Environmental Policy
Leisure Controls International (LCI) is one of the UK’s leading manufacturer of coin operated meters, token operated timers, bank notes meters or cards operated timers wants to improve its carbon footprint and actively recycles all waste materials.
The new European WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive places a statutory
duty on all manufacturers producing electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) to ensure that all
products do not end up on landfill.
The Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) European Directives 2002/96/EC and 2003/108/EC aim to:
1.
Reduce waste from electrical and electronic equipment
2.
Encourage the separate collection of WEEE
3.
Encourage treatment, reuse, recovery, recycling and sound
environmental disposal of WEEE
4.
Make producers of EEE responsible for the environmental impact of
their products
5.
Improve the environmental performance of all those involved
during the lifecycle of EEE.
