Environmental Policy
As the UK leading manufacturer of coin and card operated meters and timing controllers for the leisure industry LCI had always a recycling policy with as little as possible going to landfill. LCI wants to improve its carbon footprint and actively recycles all waste materials.
The new European WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive places a statutory duty on all manufacturers producing electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) to ensure that all products do not end up on landfill.
Instead the regulations require the collection, treatment, recycling and environmentally sound disposal of WEEE. The regulations affect all brand owners, importers and distributors or retailers of EEE. All obligated producers must register with a compliance scheme or risk prosecution.
In order to comply with these statutory duties LCI is registered with Valpak, the UK’s leading provider of dependable, reliable and responsive compliance and recycling solutions. LCI’s product number is WEE/CD0046SY.
LCI always re-uses boxes and cartons for its product deliveries as well as bubble wrap and polystyrene. Meters that have been used and returned are checked through, "re-furbished" and sold again as reconditioned units at a special price – details appear on our web site when reconditioned meters are available.
Unusable electrical and mechanical materials and components, plastic parts, cables, cans and paper that accumulate over time are professionally recycled. LCI is very keen on helping the environment, looking beyond its own business, urging it’s suppliers and key customers to “think green” and emphasizing the importance of the environment.
LCI’s policy is that all meters when they reach their end of their life are recycled and not placed in landfill to LCI.
